People have a variety of opinions as to how Pokerstars "rigs" the site, including: 1. The site creates "action" flops to increase the size of pots (and rake) 2. The site punishes successful players who withdraw from the site 3. The site punishes players who make a complaint to Pokerstars management. -
PokerStars is not rigged. It just appears that way sometimes due to the incredible speed of online poker. Because online poker sites like PokerStars typically deal hands 3 times faster than a live poker game, you should expect 3 times as many bad beats.
But does this mean PokerStars is rigged? Or maybe, just maybe, our process thinking is actually flawed? Yes, it is true, ALL online poker sites, including PS, need to be audited seriously by public organizations that actually care about the safety of its citizens and not by private companies based on some financial heavens like the Fuckpokerstars.com petition suggests.
I will easily prove to you that Pokerstars is not rigged and impossible to rig. Although I will agree that the process has fault. Internet poker, is simply not the same as live poker, the title alone excludes any findings that are comparable to live poker are null and void. It is internet poker, that is different .
After playing over 10 years, have never heard of actual proof ever surfacing that shows that online poker is rigged. But just to be safe, I did an exhaustive Google search to try to find some kind of evidence that it has ever occurred. Quite humorously, an article written back in 2004 ranked #1 in the search results.
Pokerstars creates "Action Hands" where they make everyone think they have the nuts so everyone will bet, raise and call to make the pot bigger and bigger resulting in a larger rake, this is the ONLY reason why pokerstars rigs games....to make the pot as big as possible so they can take more rake.
Answer (1 of 8): Absolutely. I play poker many hours a day. Sometimes I used to try to use the play money app for practice. There's no question it's manipulated. You can see how often they create obvious drama between two opposing players by giving them both unfoldable hands.
There is no way that Pokerstars is rigged. People that win live then go online and lose are just facing better players online then they do while playing live poker. You can play a lot more hands online which makes the average low stakes online poker player better than the average low stakes live poker player.
