In the months that followed Hurricane Katrina, it became painfully obvious that the City of New Orleans would not be providing recreational opportunities for its children. We saw the need and through the help of Randy Gregson and the Southern Section of the USTA, we started New Orleans Youth Tennis on June 30, 2007.

Players from Louisiana Monroe women's team volunteered to help coach along with NOYT players Gianna St. Julian and Gabrielle Terranova.
